Two men.
Seven days.
One purpose.

317 Miles From Boundary Park to Exeter, for Men's Mental Health

In March 2027, we're walking the length of England — from Oldham Athletic's Boundary Park to Exeter City's away ground — to raise money and awareness for men's mental health. No shortcuts, no comfort zones, just purpose.
What it is and why it matters

The Cause

Men are still three times more likely to take their own life than women. Most never ask for help. Not because they don't need it — because they've been taught not to say so.
That's what Walking Away is about. Not a fun run. Not a gimmick. A deliberate, physically brutal challenge designed to get people talking — about the walk, and about what it stands for.
Every mile raises money for Mentell, supporting men's mental health services, and awareness alongside Oldham Athletic Community Trust, who work with men across Oldham every day.
Nobody should have to walk their journey alone.
What it actually involves

The Challenge

The Start
Boundary Park, OAFC
13th March 2027
The Finish Line
St James Park, ECFC
20th March 2027
Distance
317 miles, averaging roughly 45 miles a day
Why football grounds? Because football brings men together in a way few other things do.
This isn't a sponsored stroll. It's an endurance challenge through all weather, on tired legs, for a cause that doesn't get talked about enough.
